Jodok Vuille was born in 1988 in the peaceful hills of the Emmental region in Switzerland and grew up on an organic farm, surrounded by nature and tranquillity. It was in this simple environment that he discovered his passion for music. At the age of six, he picked up his first cello and never put it down again. In 2006, he took the bold step of building his own cello, which continues to accompany him on his musical journey to this day. He enjoyed a classical music education, earning a bachelor's degree in 2011, followed by two master's degrees, and obtaining his coveted concert diploma.
For years, Jodok toured Europe as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and teacher until he decided to share his life on social media. He performs barefoot in breathtaking natural landscapes, blending classical and modern cello covers. But Jodok is more than just a viral phenomenon. He is a visionary who brings classical music closer to people and conveys the message he lives by with every note: ‘Music is not just sound. It is connection. It is presence. It is truth.’
His journey has also led him to perform alongside stars such as Alan Walker, IL VOLO, Lindsey Stirling, Teddy Swims, Il Divo, Placido Domingo Jr. and many others, both virtually and in person. The royal family of Qatar personally invited him to perform in Doha, and in 2024 he was honoured with the World Influencer Award in Cannes.
And as he wanders barefoot – sometimes over mountains, sometimes across the stages of the world – he carries with him the spirit of the Alps, the honesty of the earth and the soul of a cello that was never meant to be confined to concert halls.
